Hillside Ministries

Hillside Kids

Our philosophy:

At Hillside, we want to be an intergenerational community that doesn’t create separate churches within the church, while also valuing the fact that people learn differently at different stages of life. We want our children to experience something of “big church” while also having the opportunity to learn about Jesus and our faith in a developmentally appropriate way. So, children join us for the first part of our service, then are dismissed to their own classes where our teachers use developmentally appropriate and Jesus-centered curriculum to help kids grow in their own faith.

If you have any more questions before visiting on a Sunday, please reach out to our children’s ministry director, Ashley White.

What will my kids learn?

We currently use The Gospel Project from Lifeway Resources to walk kids through the story of Jesus through the whole of Scripture by exploring different stories and themes each week. You can learn more about the curriculum at The Gospel Project site.

How will you keep my kids safe?

All of our teachers are background-checked and cleared to serve your family. When you arrive on Sunday morning, you’ll check in at our Family Check-in station at the back of the sanctuary, where you’ll receive a numbered pager should a teacher need to call you. When it’s time to pick up your child after the service, you’ll turn in the pager and your child will be released. We will only release children to the adult with the corresponding pager. Your kids are also always welcome to remain in the sanctuary for the Sunday service.

Can I see where my kids will be during the service?

Of course! You’re always welcome to meet the teachers and check out the kids’ space before the service. Just go to the Family Check-In station at the back of the sanctuary and the attendant will help you. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.

Who will teach my kids?

Led by our children’s ministry director, Ashley White, our incredible volunteer team is excited to know your kids by name and partner with you as we guide them to be lifelong followers of Jesus. Every weekend, we create safe, intentional, creative and fun environments for children to learn about Jesus.

Who is Hillside Kids for?

On Sundays, kids infant through fifth grade are welcome to join our Hillside Kids program during the morning service.

Hillside Men

Hillside Men is open to all men no matter wherever you’re at in your faith walk.

Connect : we build and strengthen connections with other men; by sharing experiences that help others in their faith walk, by sharing food and fun at our gatherings, by encouraging each other through difficult life experiences, and by being available when we see someone in need.

Share : we share our joys and pains to help each other experience what it means to follow Jesus.

Grow : we learn to love those around us as our Lord taught us.

Serve : we seek opportunities; to serve others in need so they can experience the love of Christ.

What to expect: we meet twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Saturday at 9:00AM, in a casual atmosphere, where we spend some time hearing about what is happening in each other’s lives while enjoying a variety of snacks followed by a time to discuss biblically based study materials. We know our lives are busy, so you don’t have to attend every meeting to be a part of Hillside Men.

Hillside Women

We believe life is better when we walk together in faith and friendship. Our Hillside Women gather throughout the year for special events, such as bookclub or Secret Sister parties. Our times of fellowship is designed to encourage and strengthen one another in our relationship with Christ. Whether you are new to church or have been following Jesus for many years, you are welcome here!
